Abstract

STRUCTURALISM is a kind of research that is related to structures and it surveys those sorts of rules that concern structures. In fact, STRUCTURALISM is the method of searching reality and studying of relations. The scrutiny of structural story almost was started by Vladimir PROPP on the title of "Morphology of the folk tale". PROPP perused these tales according to their units and their relations. In the survey of the hundred tales, he concluded although the tale characters are multifarious and the actions are variety, their especial FUNCTION is determinate. PROPP defines FUNCTION as an action and a performance of characters by point of view on its importance in the tale. The aim of this research is to examine structure of "Kheir o Shar" tale in Nezami's Haft Peikar according to PROPP's researches in MORPHOLOGY of the folk tale. It shows that this theory has the capability of applying in the other Iranian tales.
