Abstract

The first principle of the CONSTITUTION has announced the government of Iran as the ISLAMIC REPUBLIC that has been formed of two components of "republic" and "Islamic". Basis and foundation of such a system return to creativity and ideas of the great leader of the Islamic Revolution Iran, Imam Khomeini. After flourishing struggles of Iranian people for freedom and ISLAMISM, the type of political system was proposed by him as the ISLAMIC REPUBLIC, neither adding one more word nor subtracting it, was approved by the public in the twelfth of Farvardin1358 (Persian date). The main purpose of this article is to analyze the nature of the ISLAMIC REPUBLIC of Iran and the conjunction of two elements of republicanism and ISLAMISM in the discourse of FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS, with an emphasis on the ideas of Imam Khomeini (R.A). The findings influenced by the ideas of Imam Khomeini and the CONSTITUTION, confirms the fact that republicanism is the form of government and ISLAMISM which is the nature of the political system. So it established a consensus relationship between concepts of republican and Islamic. There is no different in ISLAMIC REPUBLIC of Iran in terms of form with the conventional democracy republics, but it completely varies in terms of nature with the other political systems in the world.
