Abstract

Objectives: This article is an analytical discussion which puts forward a view point on the SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY of UNIVERSITY STUDENTS based on IDENTITY STYLES. Method: Through random sampling 240 students of Shiraz University (103 girls and 137 boys) were selected as sample of the research. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY questionnaire and IDENTITY STYLES questionnaire are used as a tool to analyze the SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY and IDENTITY STYLES. Validity of the questionnaire as research tool was confirmed by cronbach, s alpha and the reliability by factor analyzes method. Results: The results of the research through multivariate regression indicate that NORMATIVE IDENTITY style is a positive and significant predictor of active SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY and avoidant fractured and information IDENTITY STYLES are negative and significant predictor of passive responsibility. Conclusion: The authors of the article conclude different IDENTITY STYLES significantly predict SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY and proper identity formation concludes to active individuals in SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.
