STUDYING THE ATTITUDE OF STUDENTS TOWARD PERFORMING PRAYERS BASED ON POPULATION VARIABLES

Abstract

 Objectives: The present research aims to analyze the tendency of university students toward performing prayers.Method: The method used in this research is descriptive survey and statistical community of the survey included 2376 of students in different courses and grades of education in 11 governmental universities who have replied to questionnaire on population variables and performing prayers. The questionnaire included features like attitude toward performing prayers, advantages of performing prayers, avoiding prayer performance and mass prayer leader [Imam-E-Jamaat]. The differences of above mentioned 4 features and total number on questionnaire are studied in following population variables: course of study, gender, marriage state, acceptance state in university, academic year, educational level and grade, acceptance state in university and place of accommodation.Results: The results of the research indicate a significant difference (P<0.05) between girls and boys in their tendency toward prayers and different courses of study and other variables. The results also show that single group gained better average grade in their care and attention to mass prayer leader in comparison with married group. Single men had more positive attitude towards mass prayer leader in comparison with married ones. Married and single men are the same in attitude toward performing prayers while married women have more tendencies toward prayers in comparison with single girls.Conclusion: The author of the present survey concludes women group in comparison with men are more positive in attitude toward features such as the role of prayer mass leader, tendency toward prayers and positive approach to prayers effects. On the other hand in features such as neglecting prayers and being indifferent to the effects of prayers performance it is vice versa and girls are more interested in prayers performance in comparison with boys.
