Abstract

This research is with the purpose of determining the effect of OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE on performane of companies. For this purpose, we studied the effect of some proxies of OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE (include OWNERSHIP CONCENTRATION, INSTITUTIONAL OWNERSHIP and free-float stock ownership) on PERFORMANCE of 97 companies listed at Tehran stock Exchange during 2004-2005. This research is an allpied research by purpose, and a causal research by method. We used pooled date regression analysis for examining the hypothesis. Finding of research shows that OWNERSHIP CONCENTRATION has no effect on COMPANY PERFORMANCE but, institutional investors’ ownership and free-float stock ownership have positive and negative effect on COMPANY PERFORMANCE, respectly.
