Abstract

The aim of this quantitative study was to investigates the socio-cultural factors related to Social Ostentation. Statistical population were citizens of Yazd city, which are between 15-64 years old and 384 person selected as sample by multistase cluster sampling method. The research instrument was questionnaire. The results showed that there are significant relationships between Social Ostentation and age, social class, income, cultural capital, secularization, Consumerism, materialism, individualism and Fashionism. But there was no significant relashionship observed between genders. Independent variables as Fashionism, Socialization, Consumerism, individualism and age entered in regression equation and explained 69% of Social Ostentation variances.
