Title

EFFECT OF COMMERCIAL PHOSPHOLIPID ON BLOOD AND SERUM FACTORS IN RAINBOW TROUT (ONCORHYNCHUS MYKISS) FED FAT POWDER IN COMPARISON TO DIET CONTAINING FISH OIL

Abstract

This trial was conducted to investigate the effect of PHOSPHOLIPID on BLOOD AND SERUM FACTORS in RAINBOW TROUT (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fed FAT POWDER. PHOSPHOLIPID in two levels was added to 20 percent fat based on diet including 50% FAT POWDER. Control diet contained FISH OIL instead of FAT POWDER and was lack of PHOSPHOLIPID.150 juvenile RAINBOW TROUT with initial mean weight of 27.45±1.88g stored in 9 circulate tanks. Fish were fed experimental diet twice daily to apparent satiation for 8 weeks. Experimental diets were including 1-PHOSPHOLIPID 0.5% 2- PHOSPHOLIPID 1.5% 3- control (PHOSPHOLIPID 0%). The results of blood factor showed that PHOSPHOLIPID addition had significant effect on blood parameters such as hemoglobin, red blood cells, white blood cells, MCV and MCH (P<0.05). Control diet had higher value of hemoglobin, white blood cells and MCH but red blood cells and MCV were higher in PHOSPHOLIPID 0.5% and PHOSPHOLIPID 1.5%, respectively. Results of serum analysis showed that inclusion of PHOSPHOLIPID was effected albumin, glucose and total protein value (P<0.05). The highest glucose values were observed in diet 1.5% PHOSPHOLIPID while total protein and albumin were highest in control diet. Considering some blood factor improve, it seems that adding 1.5% PHOSPHOLIPID could compensate the bad effect of FAT POWDER in RAINBOW TROUT.
