Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between SPORT and both male and female Kermani high school students’ MENTAL HEALTH and HAPPINESS. This study was descriptive in nature. Besides, the studied sample was choosen amang 384 male and female students by clustering method in several steps. The data collection was conducted by using 28- item MENTAL HEALTH Questionnaire (GHO) and HAPPINESS with a 29-item Oxford HAPPINESS Questionnaire (1989). To determine the type and amount of SPORTs activities a 15-item questionnaire made by the researchers were used. The data were analyzed by Spss 18 using descriptive statistics, bivariate and multivariate regression and t-test. The results showed a significant relationship between doing SPORTs, MENTAL HEALTH, and HAPPINESS at the P-value<0.01. Also, according to small values of MENTAL HEALTH, there was a significant relationship between depression, anxiety and HAPPINESS (P<0.01), while there was no significant relationship between physical and social functions and HAPPINESS.
