Abstract

Taking to account the main indicators of human development, this article studies women and men situations in Iran’s DEVELOPMENT PLAN. By comparative study of documentary data, it attempts to explore women subject in the 4th DEVELOPMENT PLAN. To do this, HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDICATORS such as EDUCATION, HEALTH, ECONOMY and POLITICs based on sex ratio were studied. Domestic data of Statistical Centre of Iran and international ones such as World Bank organization, Human Development Reports and global GENDER GAP report of World Economic Forum were referred.Gender study of the content of 4th plan clarifies that although it implicates fostering grounds for economic and social participation of women during its implementation, social reality is different. In other words, while significant improvements of HEALTH and EDUCATION indicators among women are remarkable, the economic and POLITICal indicators, in comparison with contents of the 4th plan and also the achiedved rate of 3rd plan are not desirable. This entails comprehensive gender studies as prerequisite for further plan.
