A CASE STUDY EXAMINING THE FACULTY MEMBERS' JOB AND NEEDS SATISFACTION AT ISLAMIC AZAD UNIVERSITY

Abstract

 The present study intended to examine the effects of FACULTY MEMBERS' needs and their JOB SATISFACTION: Case study at Islamic Azad University, Tehran South Campus. This was an applied, cross-sectional, and descriptive (ex post facto) RESEARCH. The statistical population of this study included all members of faculty at Tehran South Branch of Islamic Azad University (2013-2014). Stratified sampling method was used and218 individuals were selected. After omitting incomplete questionnaires, 171 questionnaires were left to be analyzed. Instrument used were two RESEARCHer made questionnaire: A32-item Needs Meeting Questionnaire and JOB SATISFACTION Questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaires were confirmed. The reliability of the questionnaire were assessed by a pilot study of a sample of 30 people. Alpha was calculated 0.928 and 0.902 respectfully. To analyze the data, descriptive statistical methods (frequency distribution tables, linear diagram of mean scores, mean scores, standard deviation) and inferential statistical methods (Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and regression test) were used. The findings showed that the extent to which the needs of FACULTY MEMBERS are met, it would significantly affect the promotion of their JOB SATISFACTION.
