Title

OPTIMAL SIZE OF INCOME INEQUALITY IN IRAN

Pages

  17-31

Abstract

This paper was done to find optimal size of INCOME INEQUALITY that ensures ECONOMIC GROWTH for Iran's economy is desirable. This size was called the threshold level, i.e. the size of INCOME INEQUALITY over the limit, has negative effects on ECONOMIC GROWTH. For this respect, using Hansen two-regime THRESHOLD REGRESSION model, a relationship was obtained between the effects of INCOME INEQUALITY threshold level ECONOMIC GROWTH. The research results show that INCOME INEQUALITY in Iran follow up from threshold two regime methods, that was 0.441. Also, nonlinear estimation results show that there is nonlinear relationship between inequality and ECONOMIC GROWTH.
