STUDYING THE EFFECT OF SOCIAL CAPITAL ON THE ALIENATION OF WORK (CASE STUDY: EMPLOYEES OF SOUTH PARS SPECIAL ECONOMIC ENERGY ZONE ORGANIZATION)

Abstract

 The present paper aims to study the effect of SOCIAL CAPITAL on alienation of work among the South Pars especial zone organization, Asaloeie. Because of multivariate variables such as SOCIAL CAPITAL and ALIENATION FROM WORK and their relations, the opinions of the authors such as Putnam, Coleman, Fukuyama, Durkheim, Blouner and Seaman are used to develop a theoretical model and research hypotheses. SOCIAL CAPITAL components (independent variable) include: TRUST, partnership, SENSE OF BELONGING, solidarity and SHARED NORMS AND VALUES, as well as components of ALIENATION FROM WORK (dependent variable) include: sense of powerlessness, sense of meaningless, sense of normlessness, loneliness, all of which were assessed. Research and survey method is causal. The Statistical Population includes 1712 employees in 1389, among them 151 was chosen through Cochran formula and stratified random sampling method. Data is collected using a researcher made questionnaire. Results show that SOCIAL CAPITAL has negative reverse significant relationship with ALIENATION FROM WORK (r=0.578). Through the multiple regression analysis and the collective effect of independent variables, only three variables (trust, partnership and SHARED NORMS AND VALUES ) were able to enter into the regression model. Other variables did not have sufficient correlation with dependent variable and they were removed from the model. Thus, the remaining variables were able to explain 0.367 of the ALIENATION FROM WORK.
