Abstract

The purpose of this study was to predict psychological resilience based on social support and attachment style mediated by self-efficacy and meaning in life. The methodology of research was structural equation modeling. From among undergraduate female students of Isfahan University, 300 subjects were selected by multi-stage cluster random sampling method. Then they were asked to complete the Connor and Davidson's Resilience Scale, Zimet et al. ’ s Multidimensional Scale of Perceived social support, Hazan and Shaver’ s attachment style Questionnaire, Schwarzer and Jerusalem's self-efficacy Questionnaire, and Steger et al’ s meaning in life Questionnaire. The results indicated that psychological resilience is predictable directly by social support, secure attachment style, self-efficacy and meaning in life, and it is also predicted by social support indirectly through self-efficacy and meaning in life. In addition, the results showed psychological resilience is indirectly predicted by secure attachment style through self-efficacy but it is not predictable through meaning in life.
