A Review on Pedagogic Principles of the Criticism in Imam Sajjad’ s Treaty of Rights

Abstract

 The aim of this research is to study educational principles of criticism in Imam Sajjad’ s Treaty of Rights by adopting content analysis approach. To select the relevant parts among the scripture, eight codes with conceptual proximity to the objective are found and presented as following: the right of plaintiff and defendant, the right of the consulted and consultant, the right of the adviser and advised person, the right of the authorized and perpetrator. Content analysis has also been applied in other statements of Imam with the wording of “ advice” and it turned to be in the topics like the right of administrator, the rights of master and apostle, the right of brother, neighbor and friends. Findings confirm three fundamental bases in the pedagogic principles in criticism as followings: contribution to the spread of the culture of criticizing, the consideration of individual differences and finally advocating truth. These three principles consequently replace in the following categories: asking for the criticism and acceptance of the critic in return, considering personal and spiritual and knowledge characteristics of the criticized person, preparing ground to tolerate criticism, practicing effective listening and fair evaluation. Moreover, the spirit of mercy and affection over the criticism, the significance of social interests and establishing the culture of criticism in society are considered in the view of Imam Sajjad.
