Abstract

After any maritime accident the first location for emergency contact is the nearest maritime search and rescue region. The center is responsible for actions such as search and rescue, medical assistance, prevention of marine pollution and maritime safety control in the region. So it is necessary to identify and prioritize effective factors in the success or failure of MARITIME SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATIONS. This article is a descriptive-survey to identify factors affecting the MARITIME SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATIONS and then rank them using the hierarchically technique. The results showed that among 5 groups associated with search and rescue equipment, manpower, maritime activities, relevant agencies and laws and regulations related to search and rescue equipment of the highest priority in the success or failure of search operations and sea rescue exercise.
