Abstract

This study addresses the macro-strategy of "the general policies of the family system" in Iran. These policies were drafted following the formulation of the constitution and the vision plan, and for this reason the orientations of these two grand documents have been maintained in these policies. Researchers believe that the analysis of the overall policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the family sector reflects the gist of its principles and approaches on women and the family. The main question of the current research is: What are the main themes of family-wide policies, and what kind of network model do they generally depict? To answer this qualitative-approach question, the two theme-analysis and interpretive structural modeling strategies were sequentially used. The results indicate that the themes of these policies are at three structural levels. The first level of this model deals with the ultimate goals of these policies, i.e. consolidation of the Islamic family. The second level explains the cultural approach, and finally the third level explains the underlying factors governing the model.
