Abstract

Considering the increasing importance of complex defense products and systems along with their very different nature with mass production and civil products on one hand, and considering the severe obstacles to international technological collaboration to develop these products and the particular conditions of Iran on the other, Along with mentioning successful examples of the development of such products in the country, led the researchers to provide a framework for analyzing Technological Capabilities in complex defense products and systems as a tool for policy and planning. The strategy of this research is case-study and also in a stage of research Meta-synthesis is used to generate a set of Technological Capabilities for the development of complex products and systems, and to provide a final model, a case study of one successful case is done studying organizational documents and conducting 30 in-depth interviews. Finally, the resulting framework provides Technological Capabilities in five strategic, infrastructure, project, process, and product categories along with their criteria, and offers suggestions and examples for analysis. In the results section, there are some operational suggestions for applying the proposed model in organizations and providing recommendations for future studies.
