Abstract

Variants of a literary work could be used in surveying political-ideological transformations of societies. Using four manuscripts of the "Al-bayaz va Al-savad" by Khaja Ali-ibn-e-Hassan SIRJANi, the present study argues why in three of the manuscripts the name of the Kermani mystic in the 3rd century A.H. appears as Shah Ibn Shoja' Kermani which is different from Shah Shoja Al-Kermani, mentioned in the forth manuscript in the library of Ayatollah Mar'ashi Najafi. On the basis of the hypothesis of this study, during the time of Shah Shoja' Mozaffari, with regard to the similarities in name and other real or claimed similarities between Shah Kermani and Shah Mozaffari, the attempt has been made to show that Shah Mozaffari is, in many respects, like Shah Kermani and possesses the same holiness.
