Abstract

Though ANXIETY has bad effects on the mental health of students and affects the education and instruction process, but relatively little studies have been done on the rate and reasons of Iranian students ANXIETY. In the present article, it has been tried to specify the incidence rate of high school students ANXIETY, find those who have pathologic ANXIETY, and finally introduce them to the therapeutic centers. The comparison between the effectiveness of two techniques - namely, Cognitive Therapy (Beck Model) and MEICHANBAUM MENTAL INOCULATION MODEL in decreasing students ANXIETY - has also been one of the aims of this study.The results of the study show that 24 percent of students are suffering from high ANXIETY. Also according to this study, MEICHANBAUM MENTAL INOCULATION MODEL is more effective than Beck Cognitive-Behavioral Model in reducing ANXIETY amongst students.
