Abstract

Introduction: Total HIP ARTHROPLASTY is one of the most successful procedures for relief of pain and restoration of function in patients with disabling coxarthrosis .complications associated with total HIP ARTHROPLASTY occur infrequently, but can have a devastating effect on patient outcome.Material & Methods: we prospectively reviewed the records of 106 patients in whom an early post operative and early complications of total HIP ARTHROPLASTY were done (5day, two and six week).Results: Complications include :1-DVT was the most complication1 5cases (14 percent) 9 woman and 6 man, 2-nerve injury 2 cases (1.8 percent), 3- dislocation 6 cases (5.6 percent), 4-delirium 6cases (5.6 percent), 5-G .I. Bleeding 5 cases (4.7 percent), 6- fracture of femur 6 cases (5.6 percent), 7-acetabular fracture 1 cases (o.9 percent), 8-infection 5 cases (5.6 percent) that 4cases of them were stitch abscess and 1case was severe infectious. Between age, sex, and underline disease with complications there is no significant relationship in this study.Discussion: In this study there is no relation between age, sex, and underline disease, type of operation and causes of operation with complications.
