Abstract

Background and Objective: As regards the effects of the GENDER DYSPHORIA disorder on social functioning and mental status and low knowledge of people about this disorder in our country, accurate verification and awareness about this disorder isfelt. The aim of this study was to determine differences in personality traits in WOMEN with gender dysphoric disorder and normal WOMEN using the RORSCHACH TEST.Materials and Methods: The study was a causal-comparative research. To this aim, 30 people from both groups referred for diagnosis with available sampling methods and matched demographic characteristics including age, education, and marital status. The subjects were individually assessed with RORSCHACH TEST in accordance to the comprehensive system Exner and data were analyzed with ttest method and SPSS21 software.Results: The results showed that there are significant differences between people with gender dysphoric disorder and non-patients regarding human details, animal details, food, nature, sex, blood, anatomy, form, color, popular response, form-texture, usual quality of form, unusual quality of form, organizational activity (Zsum, Zf) variables.Conclusion: The results showed that in WOMEN with gender dysphoric disorder as compared to normal ones, depression and anxiety are more frequent. In addition, it seems that normal WOMEN are more objective and logical. In contrast, WOMEN with gender dysphoric disorder are more non-realistic with higher rate of inter-personal problems.
