Abstract

In order to indicate the prevalence of PYELONEPHRITIS in CATTLE slaughtered at Tehran province ABATTOIRs, 405 CATTLE were examined clinically and paraclinically. Histopathological study showed that one case suffered from PYELONEPHRITIS and in bacterial culture, E. coli was isolated from both urine and renal tissue samples. Specific gravity of the urine sample was 1.032, pH was 6 and in microscopic examination WBC and RBC counts were 30-40 and 8-10 respectively, in high power field. Many bacteria, granular casts and WBC clumps were also seen.
