Abstract

The overwhelming population growth in Peripheral Villages on the one hand and subsequent mass production of Rural Waste on the other hand has led to a serious crisis in these Settlements. On the other hand, one of the causes of environmental instability in Rural settlements is the failure of Waste Management status which can disrupt the Peripheral and Social Development path of countries; Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate and determine the status of Waste Management in Rural settlements around Yasuj city. The information required in this study was collected through field (questionnaire and observation), documentary and library methods. The statistical population of the study is rural households living in villages around Yasuj city. 384 households in 10 rural settlements were selected by random sampling. The results of the study showed that Waste Management in the studied villages with an average of 2. 21 is in an unstable situation. There is also a 99% correlation between distance from Yasuj city and Waste Management. The correlation coefficient of this factor with the distance factor is-0. 222, which means that with increasing distance from Yasuj city the Waste Management decreases and with decreasing distance from the city of Waste Management.
