Abstract

The family is the most important unit for production and distribution of goods, and services in all developing and developed countries. In addition, it is the responsibility of the family to continue the generation and develop human resources. Therefore economists consider the family as the foundation of the economic life of societies. In order to achieve the above objectives, two types of work are performed in the family: work at home, and in the job market. The transfer of a basic part of the production function of the family into the market, the smaller size of the family and increasing interest in FAMILY WELFARE has brought about a decline in both types of work over time. With regard to the mutual relations among the three basic variables, i.e. employment, distribution of labour in the family, and FAMILY WELFARE, the aim of this article is to present an efficient dynamic model for the allocation of women’s time between work in the home and in the job market in order to maximize the welfare of the family. Solving this model, i.e. the most efficient combination of women’s time between both types of work – women from different families and diverse conditions can be contained
