Abstract

Introduction: The quality of nursing services and, consequently, the health of the community has a direct relationship with Nurses' Job Satisfaction. Symptoms of Nurses' Job Satisfaction are widespread and can affect the Quality of Life of Nurses, increasing the quality of care and patient satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Job Satisfaction and Quality of Life of Nurses working at Khorramabad University of medical sciences hospitals in 2019. Methods: In this descriptive correlational study, 200 Nurses working at Khorramabad University of medical sciences hospitals in 2019 were selected by the size-proportional stratified sampling method. Data collection tools included a demographic questionnaire, the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire, and WHOQOL-BRIEF. Data were analyzed by SPSS16 and descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: In this study, Nurses' Job Satisfaction was moderate and their Quality of Life was miserable. The highest mean score in Job Satisfaction was related to the work context (3. 48 ± 0. 53) and the lowest mean score was related to the payment system (2. 09 ± 0. 59). Quality of Life was the highest mean score in mental health (51. 77 ± 8. 52) and lowest in physical health (43. 14 ± 8. 16). Also, there was a positive statistically significant correlation between Job Satisfaction and Quality of Life (P < 0. 001, r = 0. 385). Conclusions: In the present study, Nurses with more Job Satisfaction had a higher Quality of Life. Therefore, it is recommended to provide backgrounds for increasing Nurses' Job Satisfaction to improve their Quality of Life and provide better professional services.
