A Qualitative Study of Addiction in Women

Abstract

 Background and Objective: Women are among the first victims of many societal abuses and abuses; although the rate of substance abuse in women is generally lower than men, But the consequences of addiction are far greater in women. The purpose of this Qualitative Study is to investigate the causes, consequences and consequences of addiction in women. Method: The sampling method is purposive and uses snowball sampling technique in different places of addiction (hangouts). Such as parks and some city streets, as well as drug addiction camps (private and public) and municipal rehabilitation centers have been used. In this study, 23 samples were selected according to set criteria, and data were obtained through in-depth and semi-structured interviews And data analysis is done with thematic analysis. Findings: on the causes of addiction to conceptual themes: Emotionalism, curiosity, dependency, violence, protest and resistance, and isolation and emancipation have been conceptualized. Humiliation and social exclusion, marital separation and divorce, maternal death And high-risk sexual relationships were identified as threats and consequences of Women's Addiction. CONCLUSIONS: Women's Addiction relates to factors such as repression, restriction, dependency, poverty, sexual and psychological abuse and desperation.
