Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between BLOOD BUFFER CAPACITY and AEROBIC POWER with performance ability of HIGH INTENSITY INTERMITTENT ACTIVITIES in young football players. Subjects were 27 male football players. The average age, height, weight and Bf% of the subjects were as follows: 17.66 years, 173.47 cm, 64.33 kg and 14.28%. Blood sample were taken before yoyo test. Then yoyo intermittent test was performed. Immediately after performing the test, blood sample were taken from the subjects. After 48 hours, VO2max was measured by Bruce protocol on treadmill. The data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for statistical description, and the Pearson coefficient correlation for inferential analysis of data. Statistical significance was set at P£0.05. The result showed that There was significant relationship between the H+, Hco3-, BE and performance ability of HIGH INTENSITY INTERMITTENT ACTIVITIES (r=0.609, p=0.001; r=-0.381, p=0.050; r=-0.401, p=0.038). Also, there was significant relationship between the AEROBIC POWER and performance ability of HIGH INTENSITY INTERMITTENT ACTIVITIES (r=0.761; p=0.000). But there was not significant relationship between PCo2 and performance ability of HIGH INTENSITY INTERMITTENT ACTIVITIES (r=-0.130, p=0.517). Totally, results showed that BLOOD BUFFER CAPACITY and AEROBIC POWER are effective factor in the performance of intermittent activities in football players.
