Analyzing the relationship between ethical beliefs and employees' quality of life with the mediating role of ethical lifestyle

Abstract

 The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between Ethical beliefs and quality of life of Kermanshah’ s prison staff with the mediating role of ethical lifestyle. The research method is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlation in terms of methodology. The statistical population is all employees of Kermanshah’ s prison. Based on the Cochran formula and stratified random sampling method, the sample size of 244 employees was estimated. The research instruments include three questionnaires of Ethical beliefs, ethical lifestyle of Nemati et al. (2020) and Walton’ s Quality of Work Life (1973). Face validity of the study was confirmed by the doctoral advisor of this study. Reliability rate was calculated with Cronbach's alpha and was 0/80 for Ethical beliefs, 0/66 for ethical lifestyle, 0/82 for quality of work life and 0. 83 for the whole questionnaire, respectively. To analyze the data, two levels of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used. The study showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between moral beliefs and ethical lifestyle (0/84). There is also a positive and significant relationship between moral beliefs and quality of work life at the level of 0/01. There is a positive and significant relationship between ethical lifestyle variables. There is also a positive and significant relationship between quality and quality of work life (0. 72) at the level of 0. 01. Also, the results showed that Ethical beliefs directly and indirectly affect the quality of life of employees through the mediating role of ethical lifestyle.
