Abstract

Introduction & Objective: Patients with glioma BRAIN TUMOR are encountered with cognitive and mental changes under the influence of SURGERY, so that rehabilitation and treatment is required for them. The purpose of current study is to determine the effect of SURGERY on these impairments.Materials & Methods: The present cross-sectional study was conducted on 94 BRAIN TUMOR patients and MMSE, Beck depression and Hamilton anxiety questionnaires were used before and after SURGERY for cognitive and mental assessment.Results: Before and after SURGERY, a significant difference was identified in MMSE, Beck and Hamilton tests’ scores (P<0.000).Conclusions: SURGERY can lead to some kind of changes in cognitive and mental statuses of patients which needs to be investigated before and after SURGERY. In some cases, rehabilitation and treatment is needed for promotion of life quality and survival.
