Abstract

Plot is one of the chainlike and dynamic elements of story, drama and poetry. The elements of story are dynamic when they are part of the PLOT. Among the different aspects of NARRATION, PLOT is one of the most important and also the most constant one.The purpose of the writer is to represent some simple rules by the help of which the reader could identify the PLOT. For this purpose, language as a communicative medium is used, because language is the basis of the formation of story and its STRUCTUREs. In fact, it is the language which is seen everywhere in the story and linguistic discussions are applied to NARRATION. Chomsky proved that complicated sentences or STRUCTUREs are derived from simple ones and this principle is also used in NARRATION. It will also be shown how it is possible to go from the complicated STRUCTUREs of a text to its simple elements, i.e. only to the elements of the PLOT.
