Abstract

This study investigated the effects of demographic, economic, social and PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS on DEMAND for HIGHER EDUCATION in Islamic Azad University, Abhar branch. 972 STUDENTs that enrolled in 87-88 academic year was selected and asked to complete demographic, social and economic information form, achievement motivation questionnaire, and social acceptance questionnaire. Results of Binary Logistic Regression and Multinominal Logistic Regression revealed that interest, coming job, house status, distance, marriage status, achievement motivation, age and tuition affect the DEMAND of faculties. Also, marriage status, mother's job, house status, interest, STUDENT's job, distance, and income were significant for DEMAND of females and males. Results showed that house status, distance and achievement motivation affect DEMAND of native and non-native STUDENTs.
