Abstract

Kelā rdasht city as one of the tourist destinations in the country with high growth rate and population absorption compared to the other parts of the province and due to its short distance from the large population centers such as Tehran has many environmental problems such as landfills. The presence of Alamkouh's natural glaciers, dense forests and other tourist attractions in this area highlights the importance of how to dispose the rural and urban waste, considering the important Sardā brood river, its location and management as an environmental issue. Considering the key parameters in the selection of landfills, the spatial analysis was performed to determine the optimum areas for the Rural Waste landfill using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Geographic Information System (GIS). The main factors in selecting the appropriate landfill site are: natural and human factors, each of which is subdivided into several sub-criteria. In the next step, the layers were classified according to the existing standards and the judgment of experts. Then, using a hierarchical analysis, the weight of the criteria was obtained and applied to the layers in the GIS. The results show that with the implementation of the AHP method in this area, only 1. 09% of the studied area has an appropriate condition for the landfill, which is consistent with the field studies.
