Title

Investigating the National and Modern Identity of Saravan Students

Abstract

 The purpose of this study was to investigate the national and Modern identity of Baluch students in Saravan. The research method was descriptive-survey. The statistical population of the study was all Baluch students of the third grade of the second secondary school of Saravan city (Sistan and Baluchestan province) in the academic year 1300-1400 with a volume of 1093 people. 274 students studied by stratified random sampling (by gender and field of study). The data collection instrument was a questionnaire of identity dimensions (Solgi, Eskandari, Delavar and Borjali, 2015) which examined national and modern identities. Descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (one-sample t-test and t-test for independent groups) were used to analyze the data using SPSS21 software. According to the findings, the status national and Modern identity of students was above average. Another finding of this study showed that girls had higher national and modern identities than boys.
