Abstract

The purpose of this study was SWOT analysis of the Ministry of Energy in the water sector. The research method is descriptive and survey type. This research was carried out with the help of five committees consisting of deputies, managers, experts and researchers of the Ministry of Power, as well as professors and researchers outside the ministry, in three phases. A total of 44 people participated in this study. A researcher-made SWOT questionnaire was used whose validity was confirmed by the experts and confirmed by Cronbach's alpha. To analyze the data, descriptive indices, averages comparison were used, and internal factors evaluation (IFE), external factors assessment (EFE) and internal and external matrix (IE) were used to identify the strategic situation. The results showed that the strategic position of the Ministry of Energy in the water sector is in a WO or conservative position. In this regard, it is concluded that policy makers of the Ministry of Energy will focus more on reducing water sector weaknesses and using existing opportunities.
