Abstract

Production firms select and design their proper PRODUCTION SYSTEM with regard to their market and resources. PRODUCTION SYSTEMs or production process be introduced by series of variables. One of the most famous is product-process matrix of Hayes and wheelwright. It introduces production process by using product adult and process adult variables. In this research, after surveying of previous studies, new dimensions were recognized to intoduce PRODUCTION SYSTEMs. These dimensions are defined by structural and infra-structural manufacturing decisions. A Sample with size 245 firms was selected from the production firms in IRAN. Multiple DISCRIMINANT ANALYSIS was used to analyze the data. The results showed that IRANian PRODUCTION SYSTEMs could be introduced “Technology-Providers” and “Quality plans” dimensions. Finally, conclusions represent and recommends have been made for future researches.
