Analysis of Takfiri Groups and Political-Security Consequences in the Islamic Republic of Iran

Abstract

 Background and aim: The actions of the Takfiri groups and the geopolitical rivalry of regional and transnational powers in the form of proxy wars on the pretext of fighting Takfiri have caused crisis and continued insecurity in the most focal point in the Middle East and produced many political and security consequences. This study analyzes and explains these consequences in the National Security of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Research methodology: This research is qualitative in terms of the nature of the data, which has been conducted using the Grounded theory. The statistical population of the study consisted of 20 political and security elites and strategic informants who were purposefully collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and data. It is then analyzed and validated on the Grounded theory. Findings: The research findings showed that in the constituent sector, the components of politicizing cultural and social issues, diminishing security, promoting religious Extremism, rejecting republicanism and political participation, attempting to undermine the system and promoting ethnicism were highlighted. In the process, factors of Extremism and organized violence, weaknesses in managing political issues, challenges to the authority and legitimacy of the Iraqi and Syrian governments, Iran phobia, an effective security discipline, the dominance and influence of the West and Israel on the Takfiri flows, financial support and equipment of Saudi Arabia and Allies of Takfir were expelled. In the strategic area, the components of internal insecurity, weakening of resistance and security for Israel and domination of the region were highlighted. Finally, in the aftermath, the decline in Political Security, the insecurity in the territory and the threat to Iran's interests in the region were addressed. Conclusion: According to the findings and paradigm model of the paper, causal and contextual factors and conditions exist in the security environment of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the emergence and emergence of religious Extremism and regional and trans-regional actors draw their strategies accordingly and with internal and external processes and mechanisms, Extremism Which have resulted in the transfer of insecurity to Iran.
