Abstract

Urban tourism development is considered as one of the most important forces of socioeconomic development, which cannot be ignored since it is an extraordinary force for change and in many countries as one of the most important ways to earn money. Thousands of tourists visiting a destination, not only bring money with them, but also change the local life in a better way. The method of the present research is applied according to the purpose and qualitative according to the method. In this research, thematic analysis method has been used to identify, analyze and report the existing patterns. This method is a process for analyzing textual data and converts scattered and diverted data into rich and detailed ones. In this research, in order to analyze the content, first, all available resources related to the dimensions and indicators of sustainable urban tourism development were studied and analyzed. Then, the results of these surveys were provided to tourism and urban planning experts, and their opinions were obtained in detail and in depth through the interview process. According to the experts in the field of identifying indicators of sustainable development of urban tourism in the city of Isfahan, a total of 5 dimensions and 112 indicators were identified, of which 35 indicators for the economic dimension, 29 indicators for the socio-cultural dimension, and the environmental dimension (Ecology) 22 indicators, 16 indicators for infrastructure (physical) and 10 indicators for management (institutional) were identified and evaluated. In order to prioritize the three districts of the city based on the dimensions of sustainable development of urban tourism, the experts’ opinions on the importance of each of the five dimensions were approved through interview with them and based on the average of these opinions, a comparison between the five dimensions was carried out using the Expert Choice software and the weight of each criterion was calculated. Then, by performing the equations related to the Vikor model, the district 3 of Isfahan was ranked first and the district five of the city ranked the second with a weight of 0. 76. Also the district one of Isfahan was ranked the third with a weight of zero.
