Title

Investigation of the Properties of Polyurethane Elastomer Based on Synthesis and Characterization of PTHF-GAP-PTHF Triblock Copolymer

Abstract

 In the present study, the improvement of the mechanical and thermal properties of GAP by its copolymerization with polytetrahydrofuran is investigated. New energetic triblock copolymer was synthesized using 1, 4-Butanediol as initiator and cation ring polymerization method using epichlorohydrin. Also, tetrahydrofuran monomers is used in the presence of Boron trifluoride as catalyst. The triblock copolymer was characterized by GPC, 13CNMR, ˡ HNMR, IR. The thermal behavior of the synthesized copolymer showed the increase in thermal stability and the reduction in glass transition temperature of the copolymer compared to GAP. Compatibility of Energetic Plasticizers on copolymer was also studied. In addition, the mechanical properties of elastomers based on the synthesized copolymer were studied.
