Abstract

One of the solutions that can be adopted by governments to address the problem of limited resources in the health sector is the Public-private Partnership. The number and trend of Public Hospital Beds established during 1995-2018 show that the number of established beds and the total funding associated with hospital beds expansion did not follow a regular trend over the years. The trend was fluctuating widely throughout the period and the funds devoted from public sources for the construction of Public Hospital Beds varied during the period. The lack of public funding for the construction of the hospitals and the number of unfinished projects highlight the need for utilization of the capacity of the private sector to build and equip hospitals even more obviously in the future.
