Abstract

 Introduction. Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) is a hormone secreted by atrial myocyte in response to local wall stretch and after reaching to target tissue, causes regulation of blood volume, electrolytes and blood pressure. The previous investigations have been shown that human ANP was similar to rat's. The aim of this study is the effects of human atrial extract effects on blood pressure glucose and electrolytes concentration.Methods. In this survey 40gr of human atrial tissue put in a acid solution which has boiled (to denature tissue protease). After cooling, these solution homogenized and centrifuged in 12000g. For PH regulation, the supernatant of extracts was dialyses at 4°C. For examination, rats were anesthetized, then human atrial extract were injected. Results. We found that injection of human atrial extract caused to diminish blood pressure (P<0.05), sodium and glucose concentration (P<0.005), whereas it didn't change potassium and calcium concentration significantly.Discussion. Injection of 1cc human atrial extract causes vasodilation and ultimately decreasing of blood pressure upon ANP effectiveness and blocking of renin- angiotensin after 10 and 15 minutes post injection blood pressure increasing was occurred (which seems depends on blood pressure control system) and that again decreasing of blood pressure see 45 minutes post injection (probably by salt and water renal excretion). The decreasing glucose concentration can be occurred by inhibitory effect of ANP on epinephrine and glucagone. Decreasing of sodium concentration is due to salt and water excretion.
