Abstract

Purpose: To define clinical presentations, CT Scan and Sonographic findings, and operative techniques of two cases of ORBITal HYDATID CYSTs.Design: Case Reports and Literature review.Participants: Two Pathologically proven cases of ORBITal HYDATID CYSTs.Methods: Retrospective Chart Review. Main Outcome Results: The clinical features, systemic associations, surgical treatment & outcome of each patient were determined.Results: Unilateral exophthalmos and diminution of vision were the cardinal signs of ORBITal HYDATID CYST. Progressive proptosis, deviation of the eye and visual loss without pain and inflammatory signs were the most common presenting symptoms and signs of the ORBITal HYDATID CYSTs.Conclusion: ORBITal Hysatid cysts are not a common disease, but in cases presenting with painless proptosis, visual loss and deviation of the eyes in endemic areas such as our country the diagnosis of ORBITal HYDATID CYSTs should be included in the differential diagnosis of such cases.
