Abstract

The aim of current investigation was to study the BIOLOGICAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL CHARACTERISTICS of parents with more than one exceptional child. For this aim 100 couple of parents with more than one exceptional child, 150 couple of parents with one exceptional child and 200 couple of parents with more than one normal child were randomly selected. Researcher-made questionnaires were used. Analysis of data with independent ratio test showed that there are significant difference among three groups in all variables such as history of disease (35 percent against 18/1 & 2/5 percent), history of drug use (25 percent against 23/3 & 3 percent), immigration (50 percent against 17/4 & 26/2 percent), being an exceptional condition in one of the close relatives (36 percent against 26 & 7/1 percent), CONSANGUINEOUS MARRIAGE (41 percent against 28 & 16/2 percent), and history of disturbance and PSYCHOLOGICAL discomfort (20 percent against 15/4 & 2/5 percent). The results of this study have been discussed and suggestions for future studies have been given.
