A COMPARISON OF TEACHING METHODS AND INTERACTIONS OF TEACHERS HOLDING B.A. DEGREE IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION WITH TEACHERS HOLDING B.A. IN OTHER FIELDS

Abstract

 This study analyzes and compares the professional ability of elementary teachers having a bachelor in "elementary teaching" with other teachers having a bachelor degree in other fields in the city of Esfahan. To do so, six major dimensions were compared, including: 1) TEACHING METHODS, 2) the degree of student activation, 3) methods of interaction with students, 4) information and professional knowledge, 5) applications of instructional instruments, and 6) evaluation methods. Regarding to the abundance of details, only the first three dimensions are examined in this paper. Survey and causal-comparative methods were used in this study. In the survey method, viewpoints of managers, teachers and guide teachers; and in the causal- comparative method, the average score of academic success of students was analyzed and compared. Findings revealed that teachers having a bachelor in elementary teaching had significantly better performance in two of the dimensions, TEACHING METHODS and interaction with students. But there was no significant difference in the degree of student activation, between two guoups of teachers.
