Abstract

This article was aimed to reveal patterns of VALUE SYSTEMs of youths in terms of PREFERENCE relation by adoption of network perspective. Indeed, the pattern or structure of value PREFERENCE system was a map for organizing the world. So, according to shape or form, degree of firmness or CONNECTIVITY and according to component or content, degree of congruity with cross over dimensions of Ingelhart's “Traditionalism/Modernism “construction and Parsons's "AGIL" scheme are measured.Research design was cross-sectional research.1058 resident youths in Tehran were selected as representative sample of all resident youths. Method of sampling was clustered sampling. The tool for gathering data was a questionnaire designed by the researcher.Results showed presence of "quasi-ordering" structure and dominance of "traditional" type in value PREFERENCE system among majority (75 percent) of the youths.
