Abstract

The effects of PCu as a modifier on the AI..17-19% Si hypereutectic alloy has been investigated. The modification of primary silicon particles was studied using thermal analysis technique and microstructural examinations. It was shown that the finest microstructure can be obtained when the P content in Cu15P modifier was 0-1%.
