Abstract

NEEDS ASSESSMENT is one of the important instruments for decision making. To be informed of needs in the world today is a valuable factor, because without regarding the needs, every executive activity will be fruitless. For this reason, any program, like sport programs, require exact recognition of current conditions and needs of society, since failiur in considering expectations of individuals who participate in this programs, leads to wasting of expenditur, time, and human resources. So, recognition of Iranian females needs from different social classes about SPORT FOR ALL, in order to collect a national model in this field was the main objective of this research. The type of this research is survey study and the researcher has used one of the NEEDS ASSESSMENT methods which is called Delphi Technique. Because this research is done on a national scale and the researcher wants to achieve extensive female community opinions from different geographical areas in Iran, 10 provinces has been chosen, namely: Tehran, Esfahan, Khouzestan, Kermanshah, Kerman, Fars, Khorasan, Markazi, Eestern Azarbayejan and Mazandaran. Such that classes of women were: Housewives and employed females who are working in Banks, Education ministry and municipalities. 100 females had been chosen randomly from every province which in total comes to 1000 IRANIAN WOMEN throughout Iran. Since we did not have standard questionnaire in SPORT FOR ALL NEEDS ASSESSMENT in Iran, I studied NEEDS ASSESSMENT questionnaires in different areas, as well as regarding SPORT FOR ALL objectives, I made an elementary questionnaire including two dimentions: NEEDS ASSESSMENT and SPORT FOR ALL objectives. To evaluate the questionnaire’s reliability, I did a pilot study on 100 females (housewifes & employed) in Tehran province, and also for face validity of questionnaire, I sent it to five professors of NEEDS ASSESSMENT and sport management. Questionnaire’s reliability was confirmed and by applying professor’s suggestions, I modified the questionnaire according to theire recommendations. The final and corrected questionnaire was prepared for distributing among main statistical population. Descriptive statistics had been used for achieving under-study females’ opinions about SPORT FOR ALL. Based on research results and the literature about NEEDS ASSESSMENT models, some suggestions, which is based on local and national programs, is recommended for improving current situation of SPORT FOR ALL among IRANIAN WOMEN.
