Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of self-assertiveness oriented training on the self-esteem of adolescents of divorce in the city of Kerman in a pretest-posttest method with control group. The sample consisted of 30 adolescents of divorce in Kerman that were randomly selected and assigned to control group and experimental group. Each group included 15 people. The self-esteem of participants in this study was measured by Cooper Smith self-esteem Questionnaire in the pre-test and post-test. The experimental group participated in 10 sessions of training self-assertiveness, while the control group did not receive any training. The implementation of covariance analysis on data showed that training sessions had a significant effect on the self-esteem of the experimental group (P<0. 05). Based on the results, it can be concluded that self-assertiveness oriented training can improve the self-esteem in adolescents of divorce.
