Abstract

The conflictual COUPLES are unhappy with characterstks and habits of their partners. They also have problems in their communication, lesure time, sexual relationship, and issues with in-laws and friends.The solution-focused therapy is a brief approach to treatment of COUPLES conflicts. It was developed by deshazer and his wife, Kimberg in 1970s and 19805. This approach focuses on strengths rather than weaknesses, possibilities rather than limitations, health rather than pathology, and solution rather than history and causes of the problem.The research group was conflictual COUPLES referred to family counseling centers from May (2006) to May (2006).The sample group of 20 COUPLES (10 experimental, 10 control) was randomly selected. Solution-focused couple therapy was carried out in 6 weekly sessions. The results in dicated that solution-focused couple therapy reduced the total and the subscales scores of marital conflict (P<0.01).
