Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine the effectiveness of SOLUTION-FOCUSED THERAPY on decreasing the behavioral problems (externalizing) of children and adolescents. Method of research was semi - experimental. Pre-test and posttest was used for control depperimental groups. Statistical population of this research were elementary and high school students of Cityh of Sari.16 children from elementary 1001 and 16 adolescents from high school with clinical signs of behavioral problems (externalizing) were randomly selected and asigned in two experimental and two control groups.This research was conducted based on Achenbach system of empirically based assessment. The theory of SOLUTION-FOCUSED THERAPY of De Shazer was used as the tent of the sessions.The children group received eight one hour weekly sessions the adolescent group received eight one and half hour weekly sessions. The resulting data was examined and interpreted using the analysis of variance method.results indicate that the SOLUTION-FOCUSED THERAPY method was effective on reduction thie behavioral problems (externalizing) of children and adolescence participated in experiment.
