Abstract

The present study evaluated the effectiveness of problem-solving skills training group therapy on suicide tendency, hopelessness, attributional style and self-concept in adolescents suicide attempters. Fifteen adolescents girls admitted to Loghman Hospital following suicide attempt completed the study. The subjects were randomly assigned to either a ten session group therapy program (n=7) or a control group (n=8). The treatment program resulted in reducing suicide tendency, hopelessness and negative attributional style, but no significant effect on self-concept. This study provides an example of systematic treatment program for suicidal adolescents.
